An Upscale Salon Grows in Suburbia
Tucked away in suburban Nutley , New Jersey , Salonsí is a true hair haven for those who crave a chic, upscale salon outside the big city. Opened in May 2004 by Marie Coppola, and her son Michael , Salonsí is a modern, welcoming salon and spa with all of the innovations of today's beauty industry.
Marie Coppola had a passion for hair even as a child, and officially became a licensed hairstylist in 1978. Since then, she has worked in various salons, placed in numerous hair competitions and cut local celebrities such as Elvis Duran of Z100 radio. With over 25 years of experience under her belt, Marie decided to join her knowledge with her children's youth and enthusiasm for the industry to open her dream salon, Salonsí, a full service salon that brings both cutting edge techniques and fashionable styles to suburban men and women.
Michael is truly a professional in every sense of the word. His maturity and precision sets him above the rest with his craft. He has been barbering for the past 6 years, and is one of the only young barbers left giving a traditional hot towel shave.
Along with Marie and Michael, her daughter Jessica, is one of the top leading colorists in her salon. Most importantly, education is crucial to her expertise in color application and hair styling trends. Jessica has the "eye" for what is perfect for your face shape and bone structure. After coloring and styling the hair, she is certified
in the application of Airbrush makeup.
Danielle Watson and Jenna Constantino finish the circle of creative stylists at
Salonsí. From interesting conversation, to creative enthusiasm, to a full line of products knowledge, these young women know what is current and will transform your look into a current, beautiful masterpiece.
Judy Bennett is our full-service esthetician. From ear candling, to anti-cellulite treatments, to back and full European facials, Judy has the perfect touch to calm and nurture your body.
Alyssa Perthold and Debbie Idone are our pleasant, welcoming receptionists. They too, are knowledgeable about products and help keep the salon running efficiently.
In addition to their regular services, Salonsí also participated in the Locks Of Love campaign. This touching program creates wigs for children with medical conditions that cause them to lose their hair. Salonsí will kick off an exclusive 2 month-long "Curls for Christmas Countdown" hair drive, running from June25th to August 25th, encouraging customers to donate 10 or more inches of hair in turn for a free hair cut and t-shirt. The summer project will ensure that enough hair is donated in time for the wigs to be completed for the Holidays. A "Curls for Christmas Gala" dinner dance is scheduled for the end of September or early October. More details to follow...
